We begin our new week of album sides with Stephen Stills this morning. Back in ’72 with the future of CSN already up in the air, Stills assembled a talented group of musicians that included former Byrd Chris Hillman and the CSNY rhythm section of Dallas Taylor(drums) and Fuzzy Samuels(bass). Their debut album entitled Manassas was an ambitious blend of Stills’ interests at the time: rock, folk, country, bluegrass, blues and latin music all figure into the musical mix here. The Manassas band recorded enough songs to fill two records so there’s a lot of music to enjoy. We’re featuring Side 1, highlighted by “Song of Love” and “Both Of Us(Bound To Lose)”.
