Participants Needed for NorthShore Cardiovascular Institute Aortic Valve Study
Saturday December 10, 2016 - Saturday January 14, 2017

Have you or someone you care for been told they may need a new heart valve?  If so, you may qualify for a research study being conducted at NorthShore University HealthSystem for a less invasive procedure called transcatheter aortic valve replacement.  This procedure allows your valve to be replaced without the need for open heart surgery.  To find out if you qualify for this aortic valve study, call the NorthShore Cardiovascular Institute – 847-570-2250.

Technology Center of DuPage – Community Open House

Technology Center of DuPage in Addison will hold its annual Community Open House on January 18th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  The high school career campus offers 20 advanced career programs from engineering to EMT to culinary arts for high school juniors and seniors in the DuPage County area. Earn high school credit, free college credit, and career-related certifications while still in high school. Interested families are invited to see the Technology Center in action. Volunteers Needed at Aquinas Literacy Center

If volunteering is one of your New Year’s Resolutions, Aquinas Literacy Center is looking for volunteer English as a Second Language tutors to  instruct limited English proficient adult learners for 90 minutes a week.  All instruction is one-on-one, in English, and training is provided at the Center, located at 3540 S. Hermitage. Knowledge of a second language is not required. The next training session happens January 20th and 21st. For details go to aquinasliteracycenter.org
