Alexander Leigh Center for Autism Annual Gala
Tuesday February 21, 2017 - Saturday March 11, 2017

The 11th Annual Gala for Alexander Leigh Center for Autism is Saturday, March 11th, at the Stonegate Conference and Banquet Center in Hoffman Estates.  ALCA is a non-profit, full day, year-round therapeutic day school for children 3-21 years of age with autism spectrum disorder, Other Health Impairments, multiple disabilities, developmental delay and/or intellectual disability.  Based in Crystal Lake, ALCA serves students in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, Boone and McHenry Counties.  The evening includes a cocktail reception, appetizers, dinner, raffles, silent and live auctions, and presentations about the school.  For tickets or more information: http://alcacenter.org/events.

Park Lawn “Rhapsody in Blue” Signature Auction

Irish eyes will smile on Park Lawn at the “Rhapsody in Blue” signature auction, Saturday, February 25th in Alsip.  This year’s theme is a Shamrock Gala, complete with bagpipers, Irish dancers and folk singers.  Proceeds will benefit Park Lawn’s programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  For tickets and more information go to www.parklawn.com.

A Cup of Hope-A Garden Tea to Solve Hunger

An afternoon to share gardening passions, enjoy the company of friends and raise funds to help the hungry in our communities.  The Executive Women’s Council of the Northern Illinois Food Bank invites everyone to a traditional afternoon tea for a worthy cause on Sunday, March 5th, at Hotel Arista in Naperville.   Featured speaker Nancy Ristau will inspire gardeners to welcome “flying flowers” to their yards and maintain the right habitat to encourage them to return every year.  Proceeds from A Cup of Hope directly benefit the Northern Illinois Food Bank’s programs that serve 800 feeding sites and provided 62.5 million meals in 2016.  Tickets can be purchased at www.solvehungertoday.org.

Round Lake Community Band presents “Music of the Big Top”

The Round Lake Community Band will perform a concert of music composed for the circus!  “Music of the Big Top” will be a salute to the circus complete with a guest Master of Ceremonies, circus clowns and more.   It’s set for Sunday, March 19th at 2:00pm at Round Lake High School in Round Lake. Admission is free and a meet-the-performers reception will follow the concert.
