Diane Masters Cup Charity Golf Outing
August 8

For 30 years, the Crisis Center has hosted the Dianne Masters Cup Charity Golf Outing to raise funds to help support its mission. This year’s golf outing will be held on Tuesday, August 8th at Silver Lake Country Club.
Dianne Masters would have turned 77 years old this past June had she not been murdered in a plot devised by her husband. As a victim of domestic violence herself, she gave a voice to what was a silent community of victims before 1978. She was a member of the American Association of University Women, a group of women who investigated the prevalence of domestic violence in the south suburbs of Chicago and started a hotline in Dianne’s kitchen. Today, the Crisis Center for South Suburbia employs 74 people, operates on a budget of over six million dollars and provides an array of domestic violence services that impact thousands of south side residents every year.
Funds raised at this year’s golf outing will ensure that the agency continues to provide free shelter, housing, counseling and support services to victims of domestic violence as well as educational and prevention programs for our communities. “The funds raised from the golf outing are especially important this year, as we recently expanded our emergency shelter to serve 40% more survivors, and we are in need of more resources to provide the care that they deserve,” said Special Event and Engagement Manager, Lisa Molloy. The Crisis Center for South Suburbia is a local non-profit that serves victims of domestic violence and their children throughout the entire South Chicagoland area by offering free shelter, housing, counseling, advocacy and support services.
